RACHEL SUMNER & TRAVELING LIGHT
Lennon Award Winning Songwriter Rachel Sumner sits at the helm of her virtuosic string band Traveling Light (fiddle, guitar, bass). This acoustic trio packs a mighty sound, bringing their bluegrass roots to the tightly crafted original songs written by Sumner. The result? Songs as sweet and biting as the nectar and venom you’ll hear in Sumner’s haunting voice.
GREEN HERON
The music of Green Heron stretches across the entire folk landscape. Old-time, Americana, bluegrass, country, celtic and blues music are all represented as the band brings the back porch to the stage. Featuring Betsy Heron on fiddle, banjo and vocals, and Scott Heron on guitar, banjo and vocals, the duo has been sharing stages together since 2017. With three albums under their belt, the two songwriters weave the contemporary with the traditional and deliver high energy live performances.
THUNDER AND RAIN
Thunder and Rain’s music lives somewhere in between folk, country, bluegrass, and pop, made cohesive by lead singer-songwriter Erinn Peet Lukes’ “nimble, yet devastating” vocals, heartfelt lyricism, and a high level of musicianship from Amelia Ransom on fiddle and Laura Ray on banjo. They were finalists in the Rockygrass Band Competition in 2014 and named #1 Bluegrass band by the Denver Westword in 2016. They’re bluegrass covers of popular songs have amassed hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube.
