Our spring music series continues at The Overlook! Join us for a night of bluesy folk rock with Julie Rhodes, The Wolff Sister, and Wyn Doran! Doors open at 6:30. Tickets are $15 at the door.
JULIE RHODES
Winner of the Boston Music Awards’ Americana artist of the year in 2017, Julie Rhodes’ music harkens back to both 50’s blues and 60’s soul. Her debut album, “Bound to Meet the Devil,” was partially recorded at Muscle Shoals and features performances from such legends as Sara Watkins, Spooner Oldham, and New England’s own Eric Lichter. Julie’s sharp lyricism and uncompromising vocals lead her listeners through stories of heartbreak in an effortless blend of country, soul, blues, and folk.
THE WOLFF SISTERS
Raised on Bob Dylan, The Band, and Little Feat, The Wolff Sisters crafted their sound around a honky tonk piano in the living room of their childhood home. With a talented cast of rotating drummers and bass players, The Wolff Sisters are a rag tag group of hardworking individuals that bring a big sound and timeless songs. Their music is honest and genre defying, but still rooted in traditional rock and Americana storytelling.
WYN DORAN
Nominated ‘Female Performer of the Year’ by the New England Music Awards the first year she took on stages solo, Wyn Doran is labeled “a force to be reckoned with” (Quincy Stallworth, Sofar Philadelphia). Also known for her work with folk rockers Strangers by Accident (vocals, bassist, cowriter) and New England Music Award winners Liz Bills and the Change, Wyn was classically trained in voice from a young age and competed internationally with choirs, singing in the Sydney Opera House in Australia and Carnegie Hall in New York.
