Artists at Coffee and Cotton
Robin Monro Hackett is the featured artist in Coffee and Cotton until September 12. Her exhibit “Plant Girl Gone Good” features brightly colored encaustic paintings of plants. “This series is a delicate balance between the formal and conceptual void – playing with the background and pushing and pulling. My work investigates falling back into vice, pushing forward and being at peace with our surroundings. Whether I was aware of it or not, these paintings are a combination of the forces between seeking control of certain behaviors, unpredictable events, and finding balance and the peace within.”
Not only is Robin a fine artist, but also she is an elementary school Art Teacher in Medway. She graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and has her Masters Degree from Framingham State University in Art Education.
Madison Hadley of Botanik Studio will be the next Artist in Residence displaying her artwork on the walls of Coffee and Cotton. Madison has been creating whimsical works since 2006 in a range of mediums including painting, illustration and woodwork. She is a frequent vendor at A Little Bazaar and will be exhibiting her work this fall at Coffee and Cotton. The exhibit titled “Witchful Thinking” will be up from September 18 through October 13. In the spirit of Halloween, this curation will feature ghost filled forests, fictional worlds and spooky botanicals.
