Bazaar is back

A Little Bazaar (ALB), began in 2013 when Mill No. 5 was virtually undeveloped and less than a handful of shops were open. Amelia Tucker, current Creative Director of Mill No. 5, came to the soft opening of Vinyl Destination and began a conversation with the management team on the possibilities and vision for the vast space. Amelia’s experience with art markets was that of a participating artist, but she knew it would be the perfect space for a large marketplace, so she pitched the idea. Working collaboratively with the Mill No. 5 team they created their first marketplace called Totally Bazaar, with 60 vendors spread out over the entirety of the 4th floor. There was lots of unused space at that time and every nook and cranny was filled. The market was a success, and a few months later she organized a Valentine’s Day themed marketplace. Monthly themed markets began shortly afterwards and today A Little Bazaar hosts weekly themed marketplaces of a smaller size on the 5th floor, as permanent shops have filled the 4th floor. Although the frequency and size of the markets has changed over time, the objectives and standards for curating the makers, designers and vintage sellers has always been the same:Vendors must have a social media presence and be well established in their businesses or have an intriguing or unique business concept and offer high-quality products to participate. Customers favoring ALB travel from all over the region to support the local makers and to experience Mill No. 5 firsthand.

A Little Bazaar (finally!) returns on September 11 with the Makers Market from 12-4pm and, new this fall, will be a night market, Nerd At Night, on September 19. New vendors are always welcome to apply to the market which they feel is the best fit for their products. More information can be found at https://millno5.com/a-little-bazaar/

Are you planning a holiday (Nov-Dec) bazaar? I would like to set up a table to sell silver jewelry and oddities from my family’s attic. We have lived in the same house in Lowell for 100+ years. Lot of goodies to sell.
